Choosing an estate agent in Almere: what to look for

Written by Dennis Teinveld · August 13, 2026

Almere has a number of good estate agencies, including Van der Linden, 4 Linden and STAAT Makelaars alongside us. The right choice mostly depends on what matters to you. A few things worth considering.

Local focus or a regional network

Some offices work across several cities at once, and that has its own advantages, such as a broader network. We made a different choice: IMMO has focused exclusively on Almere and the immediate area for more than 30 years. We know the neighbourhoods, the price movements street by street, and the buyer pool for your specific home, simply because we are not active anywhere else. Ask any agent how many homes they sold in your neighbourhood this year. It often tells you more than a nationwide network does.

Experience and track record

How long an office has been operating, and how many homes it has sold, says something about the experience it brings to the negotiating table. IMMO has been active in Almere for more than 30 years and has sold over 5,000 homes to date.

What a sale gets you, beyond the commission

Commission rates tend to be similar across offices. Where the difference usually lies is in the extras. Is there a mortgage adviser you can speak to quickly? Does anyone think along about the move itself? At IMMO, you get a free moving van and moving boxes with your sale, and a mortgage adviser sits at our own office, no separate appointment elsewhere needed. This kind of thing varies by office, so it is worth asking before you decide.

Check the reviews

Reviews exist for almost every agent in Almere, on Funda or Google. Read them, not just the score but what people specifically mention. Our own Funda rating from sellers stands at 9.5 for expertise and 9.3 for service.
